Our client has an immediate need for an Enterprise Operations and Security Services (EOSS) program that supports the DOD client in Arlington, VA. The EOSS Program is an ITIL-based organization delivering enterprise IT services in support of the client's missions through GuardNet. GuardNet is the .mil accredited network providing mission-essential IT infrastructure and services integrating the 54 States, Territories, the District of Columbia, and all federal level. This team provides full IT service spectrum support to the following (Strategy, Design, Transition, Operations) under a cost-plus award fee managed services contract. GuardNet services include; Directory, PKI, VTC, WAN, (BMC) ITSM application as a service, CND (Firewall, IPS, logging), IA (policy, analysis, incident capture, remediation assistance, reporting), and Enterprise Service Desk (supporting both EOSS services Tier 1 and Tier II for select ARNG services and other ARNG service providers). Service support includes; Computing environment support, Certification and Accreditation, Monitoring, CI Management, Access control, in/out of band management, 24x7 NOSC operations, ITSM application support, DR/COOP capabilities for EOSS services, Tier II technical support for State-based IT services, and CCRI support for the Enterprise network as well as the 54 states and territories of the ARNG. EOSS is an ISO 20000:2011 certified program with a +16 year record of meeting or exceeding service levels aligned with mission support.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • We are seeking a highly motivated Tier II WAN/NOC Engineer to support our day to day operations. This position is responsible for the effective delivery and support of current and future services to the DOD entity enterprise.
  • IT Operations consist of 8 engineers that will be responsible for monitoring network services and responding to events and alarms, supporting the incident management process, including defining the impact, properly escalating, and resolving incidents.
  • Tier II Engineer will report to the IT Operations Manager. The RCC-NG operates 24/7/365, IT Operations will be staffed with shift schedules and the candidate will be a member of a team working one of those shifts.
  • Our team provides support to include the following, routers, switches, firewalls, applications, hardware devices, storage, backups, morning checks, resetting account passwords, monthly ITSM patch updates, ITSM account creation ETC.
  • The RCC-NG IT Operations will collectively work to maintain the Network to meet performance and stability requirements, allowing our customer to meet our business needs.
  • In addition, the Tier 2 WAN Engineer will support service and change requests for a highly critical and dynamic WAN/LAN/MAN environment. Tier II Engineer assists with training new team members on process, procedures and troubleshooting steps for resolving and escalating tickets to the proper teams for further triaging.

Required Certifications and Education:

  • DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II Certification (Security+ CE)
  • ITILv3 Certification within 60 days of hire
  • CCENT and/or CCNA equivalent is a plus

           

Desired Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years' experience working in a NOC environment providing Tier II support
  • Routing and switching- Command Line (Show commands) BGP/Firewall.
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP and the functions of NW technologies.
  • Working understanding of NW security devices, IPsec, Cisco AnyConnect VPNs, TCP/IP, Routing, Switching, VRF, VLANS, Bandwidth Utilization, and Firewall ACL.
  • Cisco Routing and Switching – CCNA Routing and Switching,
  • Associates Degree

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Candidate must have demonstrable experience in the following areas:
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to include written and oral communication skills
  • Troubleshooting, upgrading, Cisco Switches and Routers
  • Troubleshooting FW rules, NATs, and IPsec communications
  • Use of Remedy ticketing tools, SolarWinds, Palo Alto, Putty.
  • Candidate must demonstrate an understanding of Incident, Change, Problem and Request management practices.
  • Responsible for sending out Passdown, SITREP ETC.
  • Contacting Telecommunication in regards to scheduled/unscheduled Outages/maintenance.
  • CRQ Ticket Creations, NMAs, Ticket completions.
  • Circuit Outages, Telecommunication ticket creation and follow up on RFO/RCA
