Staff Accountant – Woburn, MA
A well-established distributor of electronic test and measurement equipment is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its team in Woburn, Massachusetts. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with a team of accounting professionals managing all aspects of financial operations for a diverse customer base, including businesses, government entities, military organizations, and academic institutions.
Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable: Support and mentor AP staff in processing vendor invoices, performing three-way matches, and managing payments. Ensure transaction accuracy and reconcile key accounts, including purchases clearing and credit card expenses.
- Accounts Receivable: Process and reconcile customer payments, deposits, and refunds. Assist with collections and maintain aging and trial balance reconciliations.
- Inventory Management: Oversee vendor returns, item valuation adjustments, and inventory variances.
- General Ledger: Reconcile asset, income, expense, and suspense accounts. Support end-of-period ERP closing and conduct trend analysis and financial reporting.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field (equivalent experience considered).
- 4+ years of accounting experience, ideally in a product-based or distribution environment.
- Advanced Excel proficiency, including pivot tables, external data connections, and complex formulas.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with vendors, customers, and internal teams.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to identify and implement process improvements.
