Role Overview

 

As a Senior Tax Professional, you will play a pivotal role in managing and executing a variety of tax-related assignments, including preparing gift tax returns, public charity and private foundation tax returns, estate income tax returns, and trust income tax returns. Your expertise will be instrumental in advising our clients on tax strategies and compliance, helping them navigate the complexities of tax law effectively, as well as coordinating with attorneys serving as trustees.

 Key Responsibilities

 • Prepare and review complex individual, business, and fiduciary income tax returns, nonprofit tax returns, and gift tax returns.

• Provide expert advice on tax matters to clients, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.

• Assist in tax planning and recommend strategies to minimize clients' tax liabilities and maximize compliance.

• Collaborate with attorneys and other professionals to provide integrated and comprehensive legal and tax solutions.

• Assist tax counsel with audits and amended tax returns in connection with active cases.

• Stay updated on the latest tax laws and regulations; apply these changes effectively to benefit clients and the firm.

• Manage multiple client engagements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in deliverables.

• Mentor junior tax professionals and support their development within the firm.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

 • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, MSA/MST is preferred;

• Minimum EA certification is required, CPA is preferred.

• Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in tax preparation and planning role, with a strong focus on individual income tax, business tax, and trust returns, gift tax returns.

• Demonstrated expertise in federal and state tax compliance.

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to explain complex tax concepts to clients and team members.

• Proficiency in tax and trust administration software (OneSource, UltraTax) and Microsoft Office Suite.
