Our client is currently seeking a Sr. Systems Engineer to take on a proactive/leadership role in cultivating strong client relationships with a focus on meeting the Information Security needs. This position entails the management of enterprise network security as well as provide technical support and advice on a wide variety of information security responsibilities, issues and problems resolutions. Tasks includes security audit, compliance, incident response, vulnerability management, network devices hardening, technical documentation and other areas related to Information Security Engineering. This position will support a federal government client.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Perform regularly scheduled software patching/updates, vulnerability scans/remediation, and other security mitigation activity in a primarily Windows based environment.
Conduct Information systems security audit, server hardening, design, planning, implementation
Developing plan of actions for corrective measures when security incidents or vulnerabilities is identified; ensure security incidents are handled in accordance with established procedures.
Manage firewalls, firewall rules, password management system, intrusion detection systems, system access permissions, Windows security settings, and endpoint security.
Work with all stakeholders to establish and enforce IT security best practices, protection objectives, suggest process improvements and effective security controls.
Work closely with ISSO and other security team members to design, evolve, and implement an IT Security Architecture covering all aspects including infrastructure, endpoints, and applications.
Critically evaluate new security technologies and their applicability to the environment, and make recommendations to team and customer
Periodic off-hours work required during scheduled maintenance windows and be part of an
after-hours on call rotation to respond to and handle urgent systems issues and other emergencies.
