Senior Staff Accountant
Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Senior Staff Accountant to join our client in Millbury and help ensure the financial stability and efficiency of theiroperations.
Position Overview:
The Senior Staff Accountant works closely with the Director of Finance and serves as a key member within the finance team. This role is instrumental in managing various accounting functions, ensuring compliance with nonprofit financial standards, and providing internal customer support for employees. The ideal candidate demonstrates professional demeanor, sound judgment, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee Accounts Receivable (A/R) and collections processes.
- Ensure timely and accurate grant, reimbursement, and facilities billing.
- Lead the monthly close cycle, including bank and balance sheet reconciliations, draft financial statement reporting, and preparation of supporting schedules.
- Assist with external audits and related financial reporting.
- Provide internal customer support for finance-facing software, such as payroll (Paylocity), expense reimbursement (Certify), and procurement systems.
- Facilitate onboarding of new hires, ensuring seamless integration into finance systems.
- Reconcile and prepare monthly employee benefit payments.
- Serve as first-level support and backup for the Junior Staff Accountant as needed.
