Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Worcester, MA | $125K-$150K | Hybrid Schedule
Mission-driven nonprofit organization seeking a strategic and hands-on Chief Financial Officer to oversee financial operations for a complex, multi-program organization with a $35M-$40M budget and 145 employees.
This role is ideal for a strong nonprofit finance leader with deep federal/state grant experience, contract management expertise, and a collaborative leadership style.
Responsibilities
- Lead all financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, payroll, AP/AR, and internal controls
- Oversee federal and state grant compliance, pass-through funding, and UFR accounting controls
- Manage complex contract and grant administration
- Partner with executive leadership on strategic planning and operational improvements
- Lead and mentor accounting and finance staff with a strong focus on coaching, training, and employee development
- Serve as liaison between finance and program leadership
- Oversee audits and compliance requirements
Qualifications
- 7+ years of senior financial leadership experience
- Strong nonprofit accounting and federal/state grant experience required
- Experience with UFR accounting controls and contract management strongly preferred
- Experience managing teams, performance evaluations, and staff development
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- CPA preferred
- Experience with MIP and Paylocity is a plus
Compensation & Benefits
