Financial Analyst

We're seeking a Financial Analyst for an immediate opportunity with a fun and growing company! This opportunity, which is located at the corporate HQ of a well-established and reputable restaurant chain, will work directly with Controller and others within executive leadership team. The Financial Analyst will be responsible for all facets of analyzing, planning, reporting, trending, providing management reporting all financial statements with respect to Company-owned restaurants.

Day to day responsibilities:

  • Develop each individual restaurant’s Annual Operating Plan and related key assumptions
  • Develop product line variance (PLV) costing system that will compare theoretical cost of sales to actual cost of sales based on the actual product mix of the individual Company restaurant
  • Develop a weekly earned hours paradigm for each Company restaurant based on the actual product mix and approved hours for indirect labor initiatives
  • Spearhead real time sales and labor reporting directly from the Company restaurants’ point of sale system into home office to provide valuable information remotely
  • Provide guidance to the restaurant operations team on maintain inventory tracking / counting and controls
  • Working with the operations team, monitor and maintain menu pricing
  • Forecasting quarterly income statements
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, schedules, analyses and other variance reports as required in compliance with the monthly close calendar
  • Prepare weekly and/or monthly variance analysis reports with explanations

 

  • Bachelor of Business Administration and/or Master of Business Administration degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics
  • Proven experience in accounting/finance roles
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and statements of cash flows
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel (creating spreadsheets and using advanced formulas) and PowerPoint for developing executive presentation
  • Strong facilitation skills and ability to influence others without formal authority
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Demonstrable strategic thinking skills
  • Confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information
