Controller
Job Description
We are actively searching for a Controller to join our client, a family owned manufacturing company, here in the Worcester area. This is a great chance for candidates who enjoy working with system implementation and process improvement, or for a Senior Accountant with supervisory experience to step into a true management position.
As the Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing both sides of the general ledger, monitoring the budget, and you will play a large part in the month end and year end audits while overseeing a Staff Accountant and reporting to the CFO.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Maintain the general ledger, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing processes.
- Oversee the accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely invoicing, collections, and payments.
- Monitor cash flow, prepare cash flow forecasts, and implement strategies to optimize working capital and manage liquidity effectively.
- Continuously evaluate accounting processes and systems, identifying areas for improvement and implementing streamlined procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Coordinate and collaborate with external tax advisors to ensure accurate and timely tax filings
- Support day-to-day operations by implementing efficient processes and procedures. Collaborate with various departments to streamline workflows, optimize resource allocation, and ensure smooth operations across the organization.
