Job Description
Compensation: $100k - $120k annually, Full-time
Position: Controller
Location: Canton, MA
Overview:
A well-established heavy equipment dealership, located in the Walpole area, specializing in sales, rentals, leasing, and servicing of construction equipment, is seeking an experienced Controller. This role will manage the financial and accounting functions for the company, working closely with the ownership team to provide strategic financial insights.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all financial transactions and related accounting activities across service and sales departments.
- Prepare and present accurate financial reporting packages to ownership.
- Collaborate on the development of financial forecasts, budgets, and strategic plans.
- Manage general ledger, financial reporting, accounts receivable, invoicing, accounts payable, and fixed assets.
- Handle cash management and coordinate inventory management, including annual physical counts.
- Reconcile all balance sheet accounts and manage relationships with lenders and banks.
- Ensure timely multi-state sales tax filings and oversee company insurance and risk mitigation.
- Assist in the importation process for overseas products.
- Maintain compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
- Work with external auditors on reviewed financial statements.

Job Requirements
Qualifications & Skills:
- Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- High attention to detail and proficiency in Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Business acumen and strategic thinking abilities.
- Experience in dealership accounting is a plus.
- Familiarity with multi-currency operations and leasing/financing arrangements is preferred.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration.
- At least 5 years of experience in a Controller role or similar capacity.
