Position Summary:

The Accounts Payable Specialist will have a wide range of responsibilities such as supporting monthly close procedures, accounts payable, employee expense reports, applying customer payments, and occasional processing of orders. This role will report to the Assistant Controller and involves working as a team with other Finance team members and sharing duties as required. Speed, accuracy, and good communication skills are critical to optimize the employee and customer experience. A solid understanding of basic accounting is necessary. The environment is typically fast-paced and the candidate must be comfortable in a growth environment with changing and competing priorities.

Job Requirements

• Obtain required approvals for vendor invoices and process accordingly

• Respond to vendor inquiries as required

• Collect credit card receipts, record, and reconcile charges made to corporate American Express account

• Process and approve expense reports according to company policy

• Assist employees with expense report submission as required

• Prepare weekly check run

• Support order processing and other customer facing activities

• Apply customer payments to invoices and make deposits.

• Negotiate company rates for hotels and car rentals

• Administrative filing and clerical duties

• Cross-train with others in the Finance Department and assist in other areas when necessary

Accountabilities:

• Payments are remitted in a timely manner according to stated vendor terms

• Expenses are posted in the correct period to the appropriate general ledger account

• Expense reports are processed promptly and are free from error

• Approved expense reports are within company travel policy

• Process orders accurately and in a timely manner

• Maintain accurate customer files in NetSuite and Salesforce

• Ensure sales tax is properly charged

Skills and Qualifications:

• Accounting degree required

• 3 years experience in accounting or similar role

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong interpersonal skills

• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to anticipate and solve problems

• NetSuite experience preferred

• Salesforce experience preferred

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
