Accounting Lead
Job Description
Position Overview:
The Accounting Lead will handle critical accounting functions including AR, AP, and month-end close. This role requires familiarity with Yardi software and experience with Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) reporting and compliance. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills and a background in nonprofit accounting, particularly in housing or real estate-focused organizations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP) functions, ensuring accuracy in billing, collections, and payment processes.
- Lead the month-end close process, including preparation and review of journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.
- Prepare, review, and submit financial reports in compliance with LIHTC requirements.
- Manage cash flow and bank reconciliations, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Use Yardi to maintain accurate records and generate financial reports; ensure data integrity and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Work closely with the Executive Director and other members of the staff to support budgeting and forecasting.
- Ensure adherence to GAAP and relevant regulatory requirements, maintaining detailed documentation for audit purposes.
- Assist in annual audit preparations and respond to auditor requests.
