Position Summary
The Accounting Assistant requires strong attention to detail and an understanding of how commission data impacts payroll, financial reporting, and overall company operations. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with commission systems, databases, and reconciliations in a fast-paced environment.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately enter and post commission information within established deadlines
- Maintain and update databases while ensuring information is properly recorded and documented
- Review and balance daily, weekly, and monthly commission interfaces and correct errors as needed
- Investigate discrepancies and assist with reconciliations tied to commission processing
- Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding commission issues, adjustments, and reimbursements
- Escalate unresolved questions or concerns to the appropriate supervisor
- Communicate with other departments to ensure processed data is correct and complete
- Perform administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, copying, faxing, and generating reports
- Maintain consistent attendance and reliability as an essential part of the role
- Position is fully onsite/in-office
Minimum Qualifications
- Prior accounting experience or coursework in accounting strongly preferred
- Strong basic math skills and comfort working with numbers
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook
- Ability to use a calculator efficiently and accurately
- High attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy and consistency
- Strong customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to interact professionally with employees at all levels of the organization
- Capable of working independently while also contributing in a team setting
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions from management
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Demonstrates a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and professionalism
- Ability to build cooperative working relationships
